A three month health assessment for diabetes patients is essential for the following reasons:

Dogs and cats with diabetes can frequently develop other conditions such as skin and ear disease, liver and kidney disease, eye disease, urinary tract infections, injection complications and high blood pressure and it is vital to identify these cases early.
Dogs and cats with diabetes are often older animals and hence are more at risk of other problems such as arthritis, heart disease, and cancer. A 3-monthly check can identify problems in their early stages which will maximise our chance of treatment success.
The dose requirements for your pet may change during the course of their life - regular health assessment including weight, body condition, recent history and blood analysis is essential to assess this.
Treatment for diabetes is very individual to your pet and hence a regular assessment allows small adjustments where necessary to be made.
Remember your pet cannot always communicate when something is wrong - a three month check is the opportunity for us to detect any changes or problems.
