Cardiology

We regularly see a large variety of heart disease cases in both dogs and cats. One of our vets, Geoff, holds an RCVS Certificate in Cardiology (CertVC) and is an Advanced Practitioner in cardiology, meaning we are able to diagnose and manage complex cardiology cases on site. We have two top of the range ultrasound scanners with colour flow doppler, six lead electrocardiogram, doppler blood pressure monitor and a Holter monitor that allows monitoring of heart traces whilst your pet is still in the comfort of their own home.

Cardiology cases we see include, amongst others:

• Valvular disease such as Mitral valve disease (MVD)
• Congenital Heart Malformations such as Patent ductus arterioles (PDA) , Ventral Septal Defect (VSD), Aortic stenosis (AS) and Pulmonic Stenosis (PS).
• Cardiac arrhythmias
• Cardiomyopathies (heart muscle disease)
• Pericardial disease
